On May 25, 2023 Sleeping With Sirens brought The Family Tree Tour to Marathon Music Works in Nashville, Tennessee. Support for this tour included Dayseeker and MAGS with an amazing variety of live music in store, fans were ready for what the night had in store.
American post-hardcore band Dayseeker formed in 2012 out of Orange County, California. This four piece band has recently blown up in the music community, and after this performance we can all understand why. As vocalist, Rory Rodriguez, began singing the first note fans went wild, as his beautiful voice filled the venue the crowd quickly began singing along. Opening with song “Dreamstate” Dayseeker also performed other fan favorites including “Burial Plot,” “Without Me,” “Sleeptalk,” and closed out the night with “Neon Grave.” During their ten song set, Rodriguez began speaking about the tragic passing of his father to cancer, he mentioned he wished that his father could see where Dayseeker is now, and then dedicated a song to him by stating “This ones for you dad.” With their fifth studio album titled Dark Sun released in November 2022, its safe to say they aren’t slowing down any time soon. Not only is Rory’s dad proud of him, we are too.
Now was the moment we had been waiting for as Sleeping With Sirens was about to take stage. Fans had packed the venue wall to wall to see the headliner of this sold out show. Sleeping With Sirens formed in 2009 out of Orlando, Florida. In the last fourteen years they have released seven studio albums, the most recent in October 2022 titled Complete Collapse. Once they entered the stage, fans lost all control and I don’t think anyone was prepared for what was in store for us. Vocalist, Kellin Quinn came out with insane energy, racing back and forth across the stage without missing a note. As Quinn communicated with the crowd, fans of all ages went wild, and quickly a mosh pit broke out. Opening with “Tally It Up: Settle The Score” Sleeping With Sirens also performed several fan favorites during their fifteen song set including “Better Off Dead,” a Goo Goo Dolls cover of “Iris,” and closed out the night with “If I’m James Dean, You’re Audrey Hepburn.” Although, we thought the show was over they gave us a nice surprise of a two song encore with songs “Do It Now Remember It Later” and “If You Can’t Hang.” With 2.8 million monthly listeners on Spotify, the vibes in Marathon Music Works that night would have you thinking they were all there. The Family Tree Tour began on May 17th in Mobile, Alabama and will hit several major cities including Columbus, Charlotte, and Sacramento before finishing up on June 2nd in Riverside, California.
