London-based rockers WARGASM commanded the stage at NYC’s Irving Plaza on Monday evening. The band is currently finishing up a tour as the supporting act for Indian heavy metal band Bloodywood.
Consisting of Sam Matlock on vocals/guitar and Milkie Way on vocals, bass, and guitar; the duo created WARGASM in 2018 after meeting at a show of Sam’s previous band.
Brought together by their collective love of the riot grrrl movement and the band L7 whose song “Wargasm” inspired the band’s name, the duo’s nu metal sound led to a collection of singles before releasing their debut album EXPLICIT: The MiXXXtape in 2022.
WARGASM’s set was short, but full of early singles like 2020’s “Rage All Over,” “Backyard Bastards,” and “Lapdance” as well as new tracks from EXPLICIT: The MiXXXtape including “Pyro Pyro,” “Fukstar,” and “D.R.I.L.D.O.”
