Lexi Mariah is lying when she says “No Worries…” on latest single

Date:

There are games that are super fun and interesting to play – Chutes and Ladders, Scrabble, Twister… And then we get the games that play with the heart, which are not as fun. Our hearts are no joking matter, which is something that Lexi Mariah can attest to. Last year, the rising pop artist released “Queen of Broken Hearts,” exploiting the games of an ex while adjusting her crown. Even though she was going through heartbreak, she was able to brush it off, her ability to come out on top inspiring listeners to do the same. But, as much as Lexi can move past the drama, there are times when she has her moments. She tells us about those instances on her latest single, “No Worries…”

On “No Worries…,” Lexi offers a bold electropop anthem for those who have ever felt betrayed. She takes us back to a party, where her plus one seems distracted. Lexi tries to keep her cool through breezy vocals, singing lines like, “Didn’t even see you leave that party / Stop it right there, it’s fine, no worries,” but later reveals how she really feels. It bothers her that this person only cares about her when she’s “halfway out the door,” too preoccupied to notice her absence. She wants the investment to be matched, because when she falls for someone, she falls “hard.” You can check it out below.

Giving us more details on “No Worries…,” Lexi explains,

“You know that feeling when you’re hanging out with someone, putting in the effort, giving them your undivided attention, but you can tell they’re distracted by someone else the entire time? Then by the end of the night or the next day, they’re so apologetic and you’re just too emotionally exhausted to deal with it, so you brush them off with the low key sarcastic, ‘it’s fine, no worries!’ It’s a phrase I say a lot, and honestly, it’s almost always a lie. There’s pretty much always a worry and it’s usually never fine.”

You can listen to “No Worries…” on platforms like Spotify, SoundCloud, and Apple Music.
