Wage War Sells Out Nashville

Date:

On May 19, 2023 Wage War brought The Manic Tour 2023 to Marathon Music Works in Nashville, Tennessee. Fans quickly sold out the highly popular 1,500+ capacity venue for this anticipated show. With extreme diversity on this lineup , support included SpiteNothing,Nowhere, and headliner Wage War.

First band of the night was death metal band Spite. Formed in 2014 out of Southern California, this five piece band has really taken the metal world by storm as of late. Vocalist, Darius Tehrani, came out with an insane stage presence and immediately had the entire venues attention. Not only did he manage to keep the entire venue engaged while running across the stage, he also did so while banging his head like a cyclone. Having released four studio albums so far, the most recent in 2022 titled Dedication to Flesh Spite has previously mentioned some of their musical influences include Metallica, Exodus, Dead Kennedys, and Lamb of God. During their seven song set Spite performed several fan favorites including “Lord of the Upside Down,” “IED,” “The Root of All Evil,” and closed out the night with “Crumble.” This is defiantly a band to watch for in the future they are blowing up, and fast.

Next of the night was American singer, rapper and songwriter Joseph Mulherin, however you may know him by the name Nothing,Nowhere. Formed in 2015 out of Foxborough, Massachusetts Nothing,Nowhere got his start by uploading songs on Soundcloud, and quickly found himself in the public eye. Once he entered the stage, it was evident that fans from all around had gathered to see him perform. The crowd sang his songs word for word, some even becoming emotional, it was very clear he has made a large impact on those who love him. During his twelve song set he played several fan favorites including “THIRST4VIOLENCE,” “Dread,” “Skully,” and closed out the set with “death.” You could see during his performance how thankful he was for his fans, and to be able to perform his heart out for us.

Finally, it was the moment we had all been waiting for as Wage War was about to take stage. Once the lights dimmed a screen lit up, and we began to read the words scanning across, with every second that passed, the excitement became more and more evident. Formed in 2010 out of Ocala, Florida this American metalcore band has released four studio albums, the most recent in 2021 titled Manic. Lead vocalist Briton Bond partners with clean vocalist Cody Quistad to form a beautiful mix of heavy meets melodic, and with over 1.6 million monthly Spotify listeners its safe to say they are doing something right. During their 19 song set, we witnessed songs “Relapse,” “Teeth,” “Gravity,” “Stitch,” and closed out with fan favorite “Manic.” As mosh pits formed, and crowd surfers began gliding across the sea of fans, it was exactly what Wage War fans had been waiting for since this show was announced months ago, the time was here and we were going to make the best of it. The Manic Tour began on April 11th in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida and visited several major cities including Denver, Chicago, and Cincinnati before finishing out on May 20th in Atlanta, Georgia.
