Becky Hill returns with highly anticipated “Side Effects”

Date:

The world is here for Becky Hill, there is no doubt about it. She has received rave reviews from outlets like EUPHORIA. Magazine, Rolling Stone, and LADYGUNN, all taking note of how dynamic and in control she is in front of an audience. Aside from these tastemakers, David Guetta described Becky as “one of the very rare queens of dance music,” and there are definitely numbers to prove it. For instance, she was the third most-streamed British female solo artist in 2021 on Spotify, landed four number one hits in US Dance Radio in 2022, and pulled in over 781 million global streams for her hit single “Remember,” which also went viral on TikTok – it amassed over 700,000 creates with 2.8 billion views. She is poised to have an incredible summer this year, with slots at Outside Lands, Creamfields South, Glastonbury, and Lollapalooza Stockholm. For those in attendance, Becky will be performing her new single “Side Effects,” which will surely be one of those classic songs of the summer.

Her first new solo single in over a year, “Side Effects” is all about relationship setbacks. Her soulful vocals easily grab our attention as she dishes about all the ways her previous relationship gets in the way of her new ones. Accompanied by sleek beats and breezy pop melodies, she sings, “Wasn’t my plan / But it’s the truth / And it ain’t a phase that I’m going through / All that I am / All that I do / Always seems to be revolving around you,” not sure if she can get away from this person’s side effects. You can check it in the video below, directed by KC Locke (David Guetta, Ed Sheeran, Stormzy).

Telling us more about “Side Effects,” Becky explains,

“I haven’t released a solo record in over a year, so coming out the door after a second BRIT win feels very exciting! I’m playing the UK’s best festivals this year and I can’t wait for people to have a new song to sing along with me. ‘Side Effects’ has been made with my favorite people in the industry, and this one really feels like the beginning of my new chapter in my artistry. Album two, here we come.”

You can listen to “Side Effects” on platforms like SoundCloud, Apple Music, and Spotify.
