Over the past few years, Jonah Kagen has achieved loads of tremendous milestones. Last year alone, he toured with burgeoning pop artist Maisie Peters; released his debut EP, georgia got colder; and made it onto Shazam’s 2023 predictions list. Aside from all of that, he continues to impress his nearly 2 million monthly Spotify listeners and over 130 million global streamers with his music, tracks like “Summer Feeling” and “Moon” amongst the favorites. Jonah hopes that his latest single will be added to this list as he moves forward into his next era.
With “18,” Jonah begins a new era. While the acoustic ballad has a similar feel to the songs heard on georgia got colder, Jonah sounds stronger and better than ever. His clear, raw vocals make you feel as if you are in the room with him while he reminisces on the feeling of young love. Earnestly, he sings, “I’ll only ever be 18 with you” and “Don’t you know what we could’ve been? / Made to love, we were younger then.” In the end, he agrees, “I’d do it all again,” showing that the time and the memories are still close to his heart. Telling us more about “18,” Jonah reveals,
“‘18’ is a song that I never thought anyone in the world except myself would ever hear. It’s about falling in love as a kid and how that same love can go from absolutely everything to nothing in just a few minutes. I wrote this song from the deepest part of my being, and I hope you find your own story somewhere in the lyrics.”
You can check out “18” on platforms like Apple Music, Spotify, and SoundCloud.
