The Band Camino’s newest single “What Am I Missing?” is proof that they never miss

Date:

What Am I Missing?Nashville’s The Band Camino releases “What Am I Missing?” their latest single drenched in early 2000’s nostalgia.

A rehearsal version of the song was released recently on the band’s youtube channel, shot with live audio, and a wide-angle lens. The simple video, directed by Patrick Tracey, allowed listeners to enjoy the single two days early and see the bare-bones version along – with the goofiness that rehearsal can entail.

The studio version begins with a simple four-chord electric guitar progression. It accompanies Jeffery’s vocals during the first verse and pre-chorus and leads to a silent pause before a high-energy, percussion-heavy, chanty chorus. Jeffery leads vocally while Spencer harmonizes during the song’s second half and alongside the drums and layered electronic outro before an electric guitar solo closes out the song. Lyrically, this song is stronger than their previous single release and includes more self-awareness and self-pity that is an antithesis to “Told You So.” The two pair well together sonically and are paving the way for this newer, rockier, era of the band.

The Band Camino will be touring in Europe at the top of May, hitting eighteen cities in the span of twenty-four days with support from boy bleach and GRAYSCALE. Be sure to check out “What Am I Missing?” below, their full discography here, and my personal favorites here.
