Indie supergroup Boygenius’ debut album the record peaked at #1 on the UK Official Albums Chart this week, just days before they embark on a summer tour across the US and Canada. The record also peaked at #1 on the Billboard Vinyl Albums chart and #4 on the Billboard Top 200 chart.
The group, consisting of Phoebe Bridgers, Lucy Dacus and Julien Baker, released the record on March 31, which has since been met with widespread critical acclaim and heightened anticipation for the group’s summer tour and festival performances. Media titans Rolling Stone and NME both crowned the record an “instant classic.”
This marks the first #1 album for any of the members, who each maintain thriving solo careers respectively. Phoebe Bridgers’ Grammy-nominated sophomore album Punisher debuted at #6 on the UK charts in 2020. Julien Baker’s Little Oblivions peaked at #39 in the Billboard Top 200 chart in 2021, along with Lucy Dacus’ Home Video peaking at #104 that same year.

Bridgers, Baker and Dacus first put their minds together for the self-titled EP boygenius in 2018. What was only supposed to be a one-song collaboration morphed into a beloved, 6-track piece of indie rock artistry that was well-received by fans and critics alike. Fast forward 5 years and multiple solo projects later, the trio is back together with a fire fueled by devoted friendship, transcendent harmonies and a knack for pairing profound vulnerability with a deep sense of self-worth and awareness.
Boygenius kick off their summer tour at a sold-out show this Wednesday, April 12 at the Fox Theater in Pomona, CA.
