Rianne Downey put on a beautiful performance at the intimate London venue The Grace on Tuesday night. London were treated to special performances of the singers step-up singles, Alright, Hard and Home, which each pull inspiration from her loves and losses, as the early years of her twenties provide a moment’s pause for reflection on how far she’s come and the obstacles she’s had to navigate along the way. The singer-songwriter recently released a new single “Songbird”, which is from her newly announced Method To My Madness EP coming out later this year. When speaking about her new single Downey said,
“Songbird is a kitchen sink lament to the struggles of modern love. It reads like a letter to someone, sealed in an envelope and found on the top deck of a bus on a rainy midweek afternoon on the outskirts of the city. It’s often easier to express it in a letter, or a song, which, in a way, sets the words free. Like a Songbird.”
The Scottish musician is thriving with multiple sold-out UK shows over the coming weeks, as well as three new Scottish tour dates for September 2023. Tickets for the September dates can be found at www.gigsinscotland.com
