Max Drazen releases the sweeping “Five Three” from debut EP

Date:

If you are just now discovering the phenomenal Max Drazen, you are doing so at the perfect time. After signing to Field Trip Recordings/Capitol Records last year, Max has been busy releasing attention-grabbing singles that have earned him praise from magazines like EARMILK, People, and Sweety High. One of these singles, “Not Because I Loved You,” received particular acclaim from Backward Noise, expressing, “Drazen’s authenticity and raw emotion shines through in every melody…placing him high on our radar of artists to watch in 2023.” Ready to kick off what can only be a spectacular and important year for Max, he is releasing the sweeping “Five Three.”

Made possible with the help of talents like Alex Bilo, Andrew Stoelzing, and “genre disruptor” Rence, “Five Three” contains expansive choruses, layers of vocals, and cool R&B stylings that capture the warmth that comes from finding that perfect someone. The synth gives it this “holy” flair, enhancing the beauty of the situation. With pleading vocals, Max sings, “All I need is you right now / When I’m too high, you pull me down / And when I’m low, you pick me off the ground / You’re the world to me, and you’re just 5’3.” You can check it out in the live performance video below, which was taken in Malibu.

About “Five Three,” Max shares,

“‘Five Three’ is a song about the feeling of finding the person you’ve been looking for. My goal was to make the song feel as big and euphoric as possible in order to match that feeling. It took us months to finish – at one point, we even rewrote the entire chorus and redid all the production. It was super important to me that the song fit in a world of euphoria and bliss.”

“Five Three” is the lead single from Max’s debut EP, which is due out soon. For now, you can listen to the single on platforms like Spotify, SoundCloud, and Apple Music.
