August Burns Red 20 Year Anniversary Tour Visits Nashville

Date:

On March 13, 2023 August Burns Red visited Marathon Music Works in Nashville, Tennessee for their 20 year anniversary tour. Supporting acts for this nearly sold out show were The Devil Wears Prada and Bleed From Within. The lineup for this tour was sure to provide fans with an energetic night with all the breakdowns your heart could desire.

Opening the night was Scottish heavy metal band Bleed From Within. Formed in 2005 out of Glasgow, this five piece band immediately raised the heat, and provided a highly intense set. Vocalist, Scott Kennedy, provided fans with growling vocals alongside heavy breakdowns, and the mosh pits quickly formed. Releasing six studio albums this far, and no sign of slowing down this band is quickly becoming a favorite amongst the heavy metal community. Most known for their songs “Into Nothing Alive,” and “ I am Damnation,” they also performed “Pathfinder,” “Stand Down,” and closed out the night with “The End of All We Know” during this six song set. With their fan base continuing to grow, we can bet this will not be the last time Nashville will see this fan favorite.

Second band of the night was highly anticipated American metalcore band The Devil Wears Prada, Formed in 2005 in Dayton, Ohio TDWP came out with a hyper stage presence and demanded a wall of death be formed. Vocalist, Mike Hranica, provided fans with his beautiful melodies, and spine tingling screams which left fans in awe. With the newest album Color Decay being released in Sept 2022, we got a taste of both older and new songs during their 10 song set.  Most known for songs “Chemical,” “Salt,” and “Salvation” they also played popular hits including “Watchtower,” “Noise,” and “Cancer” while finishing out the set with “Sacrifice.” Fans lined the barricade decked with TDWP merch and were hyper focused on wildly entertaining performance they were giving us, some even in tears. Although TDWP just visited Music City last fall, we still cannot get enough, and I don’t think we ever will.

Closing out the night was the one fans had really been waiting for, August Burns Red. Since this was the 20 year anniversary tour fans from all over the surrounding states piled in to see this iconic band.  Formed in 2003 out of Lancaster, Pennsylvania ABR has produced nine studio albums, and released multiple singles and music videos. Known for their insane breakdown and melodic riffs ABR has previously stated musical influences include Meshuggah, Slayer, BTBAM, and Misery Signals. As soon as they walked onto the stage fans began screaming and several mosh pits formed. The energy stayed absolutely electric throughout the entire set as they demanded the fans full attention. Most known for songs “White Washed,” “Ghosts,” and “Meddler” they also performed “Ancestry,” “Provision,” and closed out the night with “Marianas Trench,” and “Composure” during their sixteen song set.  Luckily for us they are releasing a new album titled Death Below which will be releasing March 2023, which proves that although they have been blasting our eardrums since 2003, they aren’t slowing down! Luckily the 20 year anniversary tour will still run until May 2022, finishing up in Quebec. Click HERE for more information on where you can catch a show near you.
