For New York-based artist Carina Allen, capturing a musician in the moment has been her thing. She has worked as a go-to photographer, videographer, and creative director for countless singers and instrumentalists, helping them leave their mark in the music industry. Carina has definitely flexed her creative muscles in this field, but she is ready to channel this creativity from behind the camera to in front of a microphone. Ready to maker her mark as rlyblonde, Carina is releasing her first single, “Fantasy.”
An explosive alt-rock single, “Fantasy” chronicles all the drama that comes with dating. With melodic vocals that contain an unenthused edge, rlyblonde gets into the tiresome act of getting dressed up, going out with guys, and then becoming their version of a perfect girlfriend. She sings, “Tell me what you need, what you want, yeah I got it / Be your fantasy for tonight like you wanted / One in a million, but that could be anyone,” cutting down the glamorization of it all. You can check it out below.
About “Fantasy,” rlyblonde shares,
“‘Fantasy’ is really about being frustrated with dating culture and the performances that women (especially women dating men) have to put on, almost out of necessity, until it hits a point where it all becomes too draining. At the same time, it’s also a song about the power of women, the power of illusion and seduction, the power of confidence, and the power of being anonymous.”
You can listen to “Fantasy” on platforms like Spotify, Apple Music, and SoundCloud.
