As last year was coming to a close, Thomas Day was determined to go out on a positive note. The Nashville-based singer and songwriter released “The End,” an uplifting indie pop track that touched on the importance of never giving up. It was one of his most vulnerable songs to date, as his biggest fear concerns “the ending of anything.” For his next release, however, Thomas is putting his fears aside and confronting his past, showing that he can be pretty “vicious” when he wants to be.
On “VICIOUS,” Thomas turns his heartache into a raw and direct statement to an ex. He gets pretty venty, telling his side of the story and implying that he does not need this person in his life. Over dramatic piano and unapologetic downbeats from the drums, he sings, “I wish we could go back to the way it was / But I’ve got my own eyes, I’ve seen enough” before sharing, “If you’ve got somebody else, don’t tell me that you love me.” You can check it out below.
Telling us more about the music video, Thomas shares,
“Filming the music video was CRAZY. I felt like I was destroying an entire house. It matches the energy from the song perfectly.”
You can listen to “VICIOUS” on platforms like SoundCloud, Spotify, and Apple Music.
