New Rules kicked off their highly anticipated UK & Ireland headline tour on Wednesday night to a sold-out Lafayette. The intimate London venue was packed with dedicated fans eagerly awaiting Alec McGarry, Nathan Lambert and Ryan Meaney to take to the stage. The trio put on an incredible show, being sure to play many of their well loved song as well as a special performance of their unreleased track “Not Alone”. While talking about the track Alec gave a touching speech about how the band are proud of the family they have cultivated through their music, and stated this song in particular is a reminder to everyone that they are not alone. New Rules never fail to put on a brilliant performance, from start to finish they had everyone in the venue captivated by their vocals. The setlist included a selection of songs from the Go The Distance Mixtape like “Lucky Me”, “Drunk Texts” and of course title track “Go The Distance”. They also played their latest release “Late In The Evening”, a catchy song about trying to win someone back that is filled with incredible harmonies between the trio. This single earned New Rules their first major UK radio play, as well as a spot to join Maia Beth on her BBC Radio 1 Future Pop show, for a special performance from the legendary Maida Vale Studios. To end such a special night the band performed “Really Want To Dance With You”, which had the entire venue dancing and singing along. As the song came to an end the entire venue erupted with cheers leaving the talented musicians speechless.
