Nick Vyner releases highly anticipated “Stones”

Date:

As we made our way through 2022, alt-pop artist Nick Vyner was there to give us fresh music to help set the mood.  In March, he released “Foundation” after working on it for nearly a year and a half.  The track was a hit, even though it contained a sleeker, more modern pop sound for Nick.  He then followed up the release with “Flood” in May and “Hotel Du Palais” in September, each track expanding Nick’s sound and ushering in new waves of fans.  Nick even got to surprise some of those fans on Young Bae’s recent Groove Continental Tour, bringing collaborative track “Cool With Me” to life.  For his next release, Nick is dropping the highly anticipated “Stones.”

On “Stones,” Nick gives us details about a constantly fluctuating relationship.  Over a warm indie pop production of funky riffs and dynamic melodies, Nick touches on the ways this relationship has caused him to feel all sorts of ways, from desperately wanting to be with this person one minute to regretting all that has happened the next.  With his smooth vocals, he sings, “With the taste of your lips / I’m afraid of what I did / I’m afraid of what we’re gonna do.”

If this song sounds familiar, it is because Nick already gave fans a preview of it back in August.  In a live video for the Recording Academy, Nick is seen performing the single with a full band.  We watch as Nick and the band take on the spirit of the song, leaning into riffs and swaying along to the melodies.  We are also given trivia about Nick throughout the video, with various facts about his background and career popping up at the bottom of the screen.  You can check it out below.
