Cade Hoppe gets lost in a memory on “Past Time”

Date:

With the holidays fast approaching, plans regarding where we will spend them, how we will spend them, and who we will spend them with are starting to arise.  Do we make memories with new friends?  Let go of past traditions with old friends?  Rekindle a romance?  For those who may not be too sure about what to make of relationships or the memories that come with them, indie pop singer Cade Hoppe has a new single to help.

A dazzling indie pop ballad that contains all the elements of a Cade Hoppe hit, “Past Time” focuses on former relationships.  We hear how easy it is to misremember the way a relationship played out, and how it can be tempting to fall back into old habits.  Expressively, Cade sings, “Don’t you think about me? / We had such a good time, just ignore the last time / Don’t you hear my heart beat? / ‘Cause it’s always beating fast, I’m living in a past time.”  You can check it out in the video below.

Telling us more about “Past Time,” Cade explains,

“‘Past Time’ is about relationship nostalgia and the selective memory that comes with it—in this case, not only are you positively selective in your memory, but you’re really hoping your ex is not being negatively selective.  Being stuck in the past can be a dangerous drug.”

You can listen to Past Timeon platforms like Spotify and Apple Music.
