Drew Now serenades her boyfriend in new single “TYPE”

It may not be new for musicians to write about their significant others, but Drew Now is definitely going about it in a different way. At the age of nine, the artist’s boyfriend was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes. To show her love for her boyfriend, Drew Now released “TYPE”, a song hoping to show all those with chronic diseases that they are still needed and appreciated.

The lyrics contain different plays on words, such as “He can’t survive without insulin, I think I’d die without his freckled skin.” Even the title is representative of diabetes, as she sings, “He’s my TYPE 1.” The song is complimented by a simple, yet catchy beat, and it feels inevitable that the single will be important to many others in similar positions.
