The Backseat Lovers returned to London on Wednesday night to perform an intimate secret show at Omeara. The 300 capacity show was to celebrate the upcoming release of the bands second album Waiting To Spill, which is due to release on the 28th October and is available to preorder now. Having recently caught up with the the band at Firefly Festival, we were very excited to witness this special show. It’s no surprise that The Backseat Lovers put on a killer performance, with a high-energy set that just radiates positive vibes.
The setlist included a huge selection of the bands discography, many of which were from their debut album When We Were Friends like “Pool House”, “Watch Your Mouth” and their mega hit “Kilby Girl”. Midway through the set lead singer Joshua Harmon spotted a fan in the crowd who wanted to play guitar for their track “Out of Tune”, which lead to Harmon eagerly inviting the excited fan to the stage. The fan, Will, went on to play the track perfectly alongside the band and absolutely smashed it. With this being a show to celebrate their upcoming album Waiting To Spill, the band also played some newer tracks including “Growing/Dying”, “Close Your Eyes” and their most recent single “Slowing Down”. Both band and fans alike were having a truly euphoric time, it was a beautiful thing to witness. To close such a great night, the band played their track “Sinking Ship”, which sent the fans crazy one last time.
