Lauren Isenberg, known as Renforshort, is a pop-alternative singer-songwriter from Toronto, Canada. The 20-year embarked on her first headlining tour last month visiting cities such as New York, Toronto and Chicago. Last night, Renforshort stopped by Le Ministère in Montreal, Canada for her dear amelia Tour.
On her debut album dear amelia (which received support from NME, People Magazine, Alt Press Rolling Stone and more!) renforshot narrates an up-close and thrillingly honest journey through the darkest parts of her psyche. Offering a very detailed exploration of mental health, tackling raw accounts of depression and dissociation, anxiety, and self-erasure.
Renforshort always puts on such an energetic performance and constantly interacts with the crowd holding their hands or taking their BeReals for instance. Her setlist was filled with fan favourites such as “i miss myself” and “wannabe” along with some deep cuts like “let you down”. Towards the end of her set, Renforshort performed the last track of her debut album “amelia” where she reached to a fan in the crow to hold her hand and finished the memorable night on a high note with with “i drive me mad” as an encore.
