It is always a cathartic experience listening to Cade Hoppe. The indie pop artist doesn’t shy away from his feelings, as we have heard on his previous EPs, Tell Me How It’s Worth It and Everything That’s Wrong with You, fully addressing what he is going through with his captivating storytelling skills. His deep vocals also add to the emotions we hear, bringing an intimacy that takes the music to another level. Continuing to move us with his songs, Cade is giving us his delicate new single “Faded Love.”
On “Faded Love,” Cade dives into the confliction that comes with rekindling an old relationship. While the track has lively pop melodies and expressive percussion, Cade keeps things grounded with his rich, warm voice. Sensitively, he sings, “You should know I’m not the same person you loved before / And your lips kiss different now,” noting that the love that used to exist has changed. In the end, he asks, “Do you want to hold me / Or do you want the old me? / Do you want to love me just to love somebody?” You can check it out below.
About the single, Cade shares,
“Just like how trends come back in style all the time and the world feels like it’s a little on edge, I think love does a similar thing sometimes. When an old love is rekindled, it may be the best thing that ever happened to you… or it burns you worse the second time. You have to decide if that’s a risk you’re willing to take.”
You can listen to “Faded Love” on platforms like Spotify and Apple Music.
