Glass Petals release video for “Cardio” featuring Drew Ray Tanner

Date:

The world moves really fast, so it can be a struggle sometimes to actually sit down and enjoy all it has to offer.  For the duo of Felix Cartal and Johnny Jover, also known as Glass Petals, the idea of rushing into things, especially music, is not ideal.  They claim, “It’s a marathon, not a sprint,” taking the time to enjoy and play tracks in their entirety.  Glass Petals took this phrase quite literally for their new music video for “Cardio,” making sure to get their steps in for the day.

Released via hau5trap last month, “Cardio” features a driving bass beat and cheeky tagline “I’m just doing cardio / On the dance floor,” inspiring those who listen to get to work.  The duo expressed that it was an anthem for the gym, so they decided to capture this notion in the video.  Enlisting the help of their friend Drew Ray Tanner, otherwise known to Riverdale fans as Fangs, the guys can be seen jogging on treadmills both in and out of the club, making it look very natural.  You can check it out below.

About the collaboration, Drew shares,

“I love cardio, I love dance floors.  So, this was just a match made in heaven.  Felix and I had been working on a separate song recording the vocals, and he said to me before the session ended, ‘Hey, would you be down to say this one line into the mic?’ which ended up being the lyrics to the song.  And the rest is history.  I think we did two takes, true story!”

You can listen to “Cardio” on platforms like Spotify and Apple Music.
