Susie Suh explores times of change in “Blood Moon”

Date:

Singer songwriter Susie Suh continues her journey of self reflection in the music video for her latest release, “Blood Moon”. The L.A based artist has traveled around the world and studied meditation and sound therapy, and is now bringing her experiences into her music with a series of music videos supporting her third album, Invisible Love.

“Blood Moon” is an ethereal exploration of the imminent nature of change and the emotions that come with it. The track is emotionally charged, yet there’s a comforting aura that holds the lyrics beautifully. Suh’s discoveries in spirituality and alternative healing are represented visually in the music video that accompanies the song, which she also directed. Shot in a volcanic crater in Hawaii, Suh is the lone explorer in a seemingly desolate area, creating a contrast between the harsh natural textures and her soft presence. The artist’s infinitesimal size in this vast landscape emphasizes its beauty, while also allowing her to take center stage. It’s a visual representation that is both confronting and soothing.

The song is a stepping stone in Suh’s path of self growth, as is the entirety of her album Invisible Love. “‘Blood Moon’ is a symbol for the solar eclipse, a time spiritually of heightened feelings and emotions,” Suh comments. “Written on piano when I lived in Ojai, the song alludes to a time of great change.”
