Osheaga came back for its 15th year edition last weekend bring incredible artists for 3 days in a row. The festival took place at the Parc Jean-Drapeau in Montreal and brought huge crowds for the headliners Arcade Fire, Future and Dua Lipa.
Friday, July 29th
The festival kicked off on Friday, July 29th with the incredible singer-songwriter Ashe performing on the Coors Light stage. Her melodious voice and energy on stage made it a perfect act to open up the first day of Osheaga. Next up, the Euphoria actor Dominic Fike warmed up the crowd on the main stage performing his hits “3 Nights” and “Baby Doll” joined by breathtaking bassist Blu DeTiger. The crowd kept getting bigger as The Kid Laroi hopped on stage. The 18-year old singer gave a marvelous performance, jumping around and entertaining the crowd for the next act. The performers of “Heads Will Roll” Yeah Yeah Yeahs were up next right before the headliner Arcade Fire who gave an emotional performance dedicating their song “The Suburbs” to Taylor Hawkins, The Foo Fighters drummer who sadly passed away a couple months earlier as they were replacing them as headliners.
Saturday, July 30th
After an amazing first day, Tove Lo performed on the main stage bringing a huge crowd for an early set. She performed some of her biggest hits “Habits” and “Talking Body” and had everyone jumping and waving their arms during her set. Coming up next was the Bleachers band for which many came to see them especially as fans brought signs made for the band. They did not fail to please the crowd and brought inflatable tomatoes to the party. The second to last set of day was Grammy award-winning Nigerian singer Burna Boy who gave a spectacular performance with the biggest smile all through his set. Closing up the second day of the festival, rapper Future literally lit up the stage with his pyrotechnics performing his biggest songs “Mask Off” and “Jumpman”.
Sunday, July 31st
The past 2 days were an absolute blast leading up to the final day starting up with the amazing Gracie Abrams which was apart of the must see artists of Osheaga. Her angelic voice and charming smile made her set memorable with a special appearance of a fan dressed as SpongeBob at the barricade. Up next was the “Slumber Party” singer Ashnikko. The London-based American artist gave a phenomenal performance showing off her dance moves through her whole set. She was followed by the Norwegian artist Girl In Red who left the crowd speechless after a mind-blowing performance during which the crowd made a path for her to go all the way back and made a mosh-pit with fans for her last song. Then, the very much anticipated Machine Gun Kelly took the stage making the crowd go absolutely wild for him as he climbed up a pole at the soundboard. His performance was one of the many highlights of the festival leading up to the final set of the night, the pop sensation Dua Lipa which we also caught earlier this week during her Future Nostalgia Tour at the Bell Center. Wearing a beautiful sparkly black suit, the British singer had one of the biggest crowd of the weekend awaiting to see her perform her viral hits “Don’t Start Now” and “Levitating”. Accompanied by incredible dancers and stunning lighting, Dua Lipa closed up the festival in beauty.
