Ones To Watch: Five artists you shouldn’t miss at Osheaga 2022

Date:

Montreal’s biggest music festival Osheaga is finally back after 2 years at the Parc Jean-Drapeau on July 29th through 31st. This year’s lineup is stacked with big names such as Girl In Red, The Kid Laroi, Machine Gun Kelly and headliners Arcade Fire, Future and Dua Lipa. Among the 90+ artists who will perform that weekend, here are five of them you don’t want to miss.

#1 Gracie Abrams
Similar Artists: Holly Humberstone, Olivia Rodrigo, Phoebe Bridgers.
Listen: “Feels Like” “The Bottom” “Block Me Out”

First up we have LA singer-songwriter Gracie Abrams who recently released her first full-length album This Is What It Feels Like.  Her music has been described as bedroom-pop including heartbreaking ballads and upbeats songs. Her set on Sunday at the Coors Light Stage is a must-see if you are a fan of Taylor Swift as her songwriting is comparable as the singer has been performing All Too Well (10 Minutes Version) on her own headlining tour earlier this year.

#2 Crawlers
Similar Artists: Mother Mother, Yungblud, Maneskin.
Listen: “Come Over (Again)” “F*ck Me (I Didn’t Know How To Say)” “I Can’t Drive”

Next up, the Liverpool band Crawlers will be opening up the festival on Friday, July 29th at the Bell River Stage. This up and coming band blends heartbreaking lyrics over an alternative-rock sound. Just last month, they brought their headlining tour to Montreal and are coming back after opening for My Chemical Romance in Warrington, UK.

#3 Ashe
Similar Artists: FINNEAS, Niall Horan, Julia Michaels.
Listen: “Angry Women” “‘Till Forever Falls Apart” “Moral Of The Story”

You have definitely heard of Ashe for her collaboration with FINNEAS on “‘Till Forever Falls Apart”. She has just announce her second studio album Rae which will be out on October 14th this year. Catch the american singer-songwriter on Friday at the Coors Light Stage to see her perform her new single “Angry Woman”.

#4 Dominic Fike
Similar Artists: Remi Wolf, Omar Apollo, Wallows.
Listen: “3 Nights” “Why” “Elliot’s Song”

Euphoria star Dominic Fike is also joining the talent pool on Friday on the main stage. After release is hit song “3 Nights”, Dominic has worked on multiple projects including his latest album What Could Possibly Go Wrong. From singing to rapping over catchy guitar riffs, his set is one you don’t want to miss.

#5 Dua Lipa
Similar Artists: Ariana Grande, Angele, Miley Cyrus.
Listen: “Levitating” “Love Again” “New Rules”

Last but not least, the 3-times Grammy-Winner Dua Lipa is closing this amazing festival on Sunday on the Bell Stage. Her second album Future Nostalgia who revived disco-pop is one of the most acclaimed albums of 2020. Dua Lipa has given us anthems such as “Levitating” and “Don’t Start Now” which we loved to see live as we caught her on her headlining tour earlier this year.

It’s sure to be a jam packed weekend full of fun at Osheaga. Tickets are on sale now here, and you can check out their website for more information on the festival.
