Starset Shine in Orlando, FL

Date:

Cinematic rockers Starset brought their Horizons tour to House of Blues Orlando this past week and it was definitely an experience. Canadian progressive metal outfit Oni and American rockers Red opened. Both openers were electrifying. Oni brought a stripped down metal groove. Lead singer Jake Oni transitioned seamlessly between metal growls and melody. Red has been called a Christian rock band and they may be, but don’t let that keep you from checking them out. They are a great lineup, high energy and talented.

Starset have been around since 2014, but I have to admit I’m late to game with them. I was excited to see them after checking out a few videos. They are a post-apocalyptic movie come to life.  Lead singer Dustin Bates brings his fans on a conceptual journey. The band is touring the US through September before heading across the pond for the rest of this year and into 2023.
