Dustin Bird fosters a deep love with “Cowboy Stay”

Date:

Constantly pushing the boundaries of country music, Dustin Bird has been praised for blending the classic sound of the genre with modern production.  His music has been streamed over 2.2 million times, featured on CMT Australia and Canadian country radio, and added to playlists like Amazon Music’s Breakthrough Country and Apple Music’s Today’s Country.  With so much love, it is no wonder his debut album, Unscripted, landed in the iTunes Top 10 when it was released last year.  Another big moment for Dustin came when he released the single “Get Go,” which earned him a 2022 Indies Award nomination for Country Artist of the Year.  The track is about professing your love for someone that you have yet to meet, and with his new single “Cowboy Stay,” Dustin continues this narrative and shows that true love cannot be ignored.

Containing soothing country-style verses and choruses that are more pop-oriented, “Cowboy Stay” shows off Dustin’s ability to mix the old with the new.  Throughout the track, he lists the reasons why a cowboy would trade in his wild lifestyle for one that is on the quieter side.  Tenderly, he sings, “You can make a cowboy stay / Hang up his hat / Kick off his boots,” and mentions, “It’s all because of you.”  You can check it out below.

About “Cowboy Stay,” Dustin shares,

“‘Cowboy Stay’ tells the story as old as love itself.  The wild type, a little rough around the edges, finding that someone who (for the first time) causes a willingness to radically change their perspective and embrace all that love has to offer.  For me, this song solidifies the realization that love, in its fullness, has the ability to shape every part of my life.  It describes the moment when you realize you’ve found someone whose love is so amazing that you’re willing to change that which was the core of your identity, because you suddenly realize it has the potential to be so much more.  The love to make even a cowboy stay!

You can listen to “Cowboy Stay” on platforms like Apple Music, SoundCloud, and Spotify.
