Building up to the release of her debut album this summer, Cassie Marin has been giving us singles that impart meaningful life lessons. Beneath such compelling electro-pop music, she tells us about being confident, like we heard on “Push Me,” or about self-acceptance, as we heard on her previous single, “Wow Factor.” Along with such important messages, Cassie has also been giving us some of her strongest songwriting to date, pairing her deepest thoughts with rousing productions. Continuing to impress, Cassie is releasing her latest single, “Floating.”
A dreamy pop track for the summer, “Floating” instills a weightlessness that allows us to soar. Over skittering synth-pop beats, Cassie taps into positivity and encouragement as she helps others see what she sees. With her charming vocals, she sings, “I’ve been floating by myself / And I know everybody else got something too / Take whatever can help / But I see something special in you.” You can listen to it below.
Telling us more about “Floating,” Cassie shares,
“‘Floating’ is all about coping with isolation and discovering beauty in the mundane. It embraces us when we find it difficult to relate to others, or when we feel like some alien creature that has fallen from the sky. It packs this celestial sense of liberation that, when I wrote it, got me out of questioning who I was and how I was supposed to feel about it. I was reminded that there is never anything wrong with being different. I hope to take my listeners to this place, into the freedom of the sky, floating, above all doubt and fear, embracing fully the present moment and all that we are.”
You can listen to “Floating” on platforms like Spotify and Apple Music.
