mxmtoon brings the excitement to Boston on the Rising tour

Date:

Superstar artist mxmtoon, a.k.a Maia brought her Rising tour to Boston at the Royale for night two of two spectacular sold out shows. The tour is in support of her newly released critically acclaimed album Rising. With this new album we see Maia blossom and grow into a new era full of songs that will really resonate with you in some way. That’s what Maia does so well, craft songs with so much meaning to not only her but her devoted fan base as well. Each song and project she makes is special and means so much to so many people. Not only is she an amazing singer/songwriter, she also has many other credits to her name. She has done a podcast called “365 days with mxmtoon”, she’s appeared in the video game Life is Strange True Colors as the singing voice of the main character Alex Chen as well as writing music for the game. She also occasionally streams on twitch. There’s really nothing she can’t do.

Fans were so eager to finally see Maia live for the first time since the pandemic. Maia hasn’t been on tour or to Boston since 2019 so it was an exciting time for all. This time things were bigger and better with two sold out shows at a venue larger than what she played last time she was here. And also to mention that she has had 3 bodies of work out since then, (Rising, Dawn , and Dusk). The energy in the venue was electric as fans could hardly wait any longer to finally see Maia perform for the first time in three years.

Before Maia would hit the stage, the night got of to a great start thanks to Chloe Moriondo who opened up the show. Chloe is actually a good friend of Maia’s so it just made sense that she would be the opener for her. And it was such a great choice as the crowd already knew of them and loved every second of their set.

The time finally came for Maia to grace the stage to the roar of the eager crowd. Once she danced her way onto the stage the crowd went absolutely nuts. You could really feel the excitement in the room. She played a great mixture of songs from Rising , Dawn, Dusk, The Masquerade and Plum Blossom. The crowd was in for such a treat and were definitely not disappointed. There were sweet moments when the crowd would hold up lights for songs and sing along every single word. Fans also gave Maia a few gifts while on stage, one being little jellyfish to hang on her mic stand and another being a hand knit hat from one of her favorite animes. She was so appreciative of all the gifts and it was such a cute moment. Maia really knows how to put on such an amazing show between her stellar stage presence and her witty banter with the crowd. It was definitely a night to remember and one that we wish we could relive again. The NA tour is over now but you can still catch Maia on her European tour starting in October! Be sure to stay updated on all things tour here.
