The Regrettes made their way to Boston as part of their Further Joy tour and they rocked the house. This was their first time back in Boston since the pandemic and fans were eager to see their favorite band after three years. They certainly did not disappoint and it was definitely a night to remember. One could say that you’d truly ‘regret’ not being there. The Regrettes are fresh off of their newly released album ‘Further Joy’ which has seen immense praise. The record is full of growth for the band and is one of their best works to date. Lead singer Lydia Night describes the album as what it means to be on the hamster wheel of constantly chasing happiness, and how that ultimately makes you unhappy. Surely though no one was unhappy at this show as The Regrettes brought nothing but joy to Boston.
The night got a great kickstart thanks to Australian based opener Alex Lahey. Alex took the role of getting everyone excited for the night and did not disappoint as the crowd cheered for an encore. By the time she finished, the crowd was clearly ready to kick off their night with The Regrettes. Fans were in for a treat that night as the band played a whopping 21 song setlist with favorites from all of their records and even including a fantastic cover of Avril Lavigne’s “Girlfriend” to the crowds delight. It was a jam packed night full of joy and dancing. People were dancing and jumping so much that you could feel the venue shake with all the energy there. It was electric. You just had to be there. Unfortunately the rest of tour got canceled due to an illness in the band but you can check here for any further tour updates.
