Royals and Two Year Break team up for rousing new single “Double Life”

Date:

When artists collaborate, you never know what can happen.  Will we get something brilliant?  Something disappointing?  The possibilities are endless, but when it comes to the duo of Royals and Two Year Break, only greatness is possible.  Collectively, the two have worked with producers like Matt O’Grady (You Me At Six, Don Brocco) and Jon Lundin (State Champs, Good Charlotte), as well as received airplay on BBC Radio 1, Triple J, and Idobi, so they must be doing something right.  Putting their skills together for the first time, the two UK bands are giving us a new single before their joint tour in May, which gives fans plenty of time to get those lyrics down before singing it back to them at a show.

On “Double Life,” Royals and Two Year Break tackle the ongoing bustle of living the life you have while pursuing the life you want.  As the bands give us a rousing mix of pop punk, alt-rock, and nu-metal, they also give us lyrics that pinpoint the burnout of having “imposter syndrome” on the daily.  Over powerful guitar and synth work, we hear, “I’m so detached and feel so far away / But I don’t know if I will ever change” and “Every day it feels the same / Struggling to find my way.”  Ultimately, Two Year Strong and Royals reveal, “It’s a double life and it shows.”  You can check it out below.

As for those joint tour dates, you can find them below.
