Parquet Courts bring ‘Sympathy For Life’ to New York City

Date:

This past Friday night, New York City natives Parquet Courts brought their indie rock sound to the Brooklyn Steel. They have been on tour promoting their newest album, Sympathy For Life, released this past October.

Ambient electronic musician Yu Su opened up the show, showcasing her unique sound to the sold-out crowd. She and her band played through a 40 minute set with songs from all of her many releases.

Parquet Courts came onto the stage to a mix of flashing lights and excited fans. They kicked off their set with “Application/Apparatus” from the new album before launching into the rest of their set. Their music is a pleasing blend of indie-rock and post-punk, and the fans clearly enjoyed every minute of their 19-song set. The band closed their set with “Pulcinella” and bid the crowd farewell, clearly excited to play the same venue the very next night.
