Weekly Roundup: April 11

Date:

Every week the Melodic staff assembles a Weekly Roundup
playlist of songs we can’t stop listening to. With so many different vibes on one playlist, you’re sure to discover a new tune that fits your mood.
Here are some of the highlights:

1. “PAYRI$E” – Greta Isaac
We were entranced when we first heard Greta Isaac’s “how are you not freaking out?” It was dreamy, ethereal, and deceptively deep in its lyrical content and message. However, on her latest single, Isaac takes a much more fun, and loud, approach. This is a finely crafted alterna-pop anthem that is sure to become a staple in your listening rotation.

2. “sorry for myself” – Allison Leah
Nashville’s Allison Leah goes straight-up pop on her latest single, and we’re here for it. Leah belts her lush and fierce vocals all over this track, and we can’t help but think that this song would fit right at home on an album like Taylor Swift’s Reputation or Dua Lipa’s Future Nostalgia.

3.  “Save the Planet!” – Fairhazel
Hear us out: from the first lines of Fairhazel’s latest we hear The Beatles through and through. It’s safe to say that a comparison to the Fab Four is never a bad thing! Fans of Sergeant Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band need to check this song out, and once you do, let us know if you think that we’re right.

4. “Dark Matter” – Rivals
WOW- what a voice! We couldn’t help but notice singer Katie Wolfe’s soaring vocals, and you’ll want to take a listen for yourself. If you’re a fan of Evanescence, The Pretty Reckless, or Circa Survive, this band is for you.

5. “Leaves Me” – Jordyn Sugar
Canadian artist Jordyn Sugar is not only a singer/songwriter, but also an up-and-coming reality TV star, having been featured on the AJ McLean’s (yes, AJ from The Backstreet Boys) show The Fashion Hero. We suggest you become a fan of her pop hooks now so that you can say that you knew her before she hit it huge.
