London/Utrecht based trio Render Ghosts are making waves with their standout single “Look For Rain” off of their brilliant new self titled album. Render Ghosts make tunes that are soaring and kinetic, taking the meaning of synth pop into the 21st century. The trio of Render Ghosts includes; a singer-songwriter who until now has sung in Dutch, a classically-trained composer of chamber pop masterpieces, and a sound artist who uses buildings like Tower Bridge as instruments. Together they all make up Render Ghosts, and for the first time together while all separately making different kinds of music. Pretty impressive. Tom Wilson and Tamara van Esch’s lyrics map out the disorientation of human relationships in a digital world. Iain Chambers’ rich, synth-heavy soundscapes emerge from interlocking melodies and propulsive beats. They are a fantastic mix of people together from different musical backgrounds to make a band that is so unique and groundbreaking.
Their newest single “Look For Rain” and standout track from their debut album is a beauty. It’s a rather downtempo song but nonetheless is still stellar. The song is about trying to help a friend in need. Something we can all relate to. It’s one of Render Ghosts’ best works to date. We can’t wait to see what else they have in store for the future, we’ll sure it’ll be great!
