The Band Camino makes its way to Chicago

The Tour Camino by The Band CAMINO made its third stop on Friday for a sold-out show at Chicago’s historic Riviera Theatre.

Upcoming artist Hastings (Matt Hastings) opened the show with “Chapstick” and “Hearts Not In It,” both tracks off his self-titled debut EP released in December. Hastings had the crowd swooning and definitely made new fans as he finished his short set with “Take Mine” and “Blank Me,” also off his EP.

Oregonian band flor continued the energy brought by Hastings as they opened with their newest single “Play Along,” released only a few days ago on March 23rd, but fans were already singing along.

flor played a surprisingly short set, but it was full of songs spanning their career – from 2019’s “restless soul” and “rely” to their latest releases “Big Shot” and “Skate.”

Lead vocalist Zachary Grace rarely stayed still as he danced around the stage, and in place when he played the keyboard. Guitarist McKinley Kitts, bassist Dylan Bauld, and drummer Kyle Hill all matched the energy Grace was emitting.

The band closed their set with “hold on” and “warm blood” off their 2018 debut album come out. you’re hiding.

With this being The Band CAMINO’s first headlining tour since 2019, fans have long-awaited the return of the Nashville trio – and they did not disappoint.

Kicking off their set with “Know It All” and “Roses” from their 2021 self-titled album, you could tell that both fans and the band were equally elated to be in each other’s company.

Lead vocalist Jeffery Jordan’s voice shone on “Less Than I Do” and “Know Me,” while guitarist and vocalist Spencer Stewart took the reins on “I Think I Like You” and “Underneath My Skin.”

The main floor of the venue was a packed crowd and the seats on the upper levels were all filled – although most fans chose to stand, as to not miss a second of the show – especially closing songs “1 Last Cigarette” and “Daphne Blue.”
