Isle of Wight duo Wet Leg have entered 2022 as one of the buzziest bands of recent memory. With their debut album a little over a month away, the band has released another excellent single in the form of “Angelica”, which arrives alongside the news that they’ve upgraded their previously sold-out US tour to even bigger rooms, which then promptly sold out.
“Angelica” is named after band member Rhian Teasdale’s oldest friend and it signals a heavier sound from the duo than with previous singles. In what’s becoming their typical style, the song blends the lyrically absurd (“She brought lasagne to the party”) with heavy synths and a driving, scuzzy guitar line. This song is proving that the hype around this band is incredibly justified, and you can watch the self-directed video below alongside their tour dates.
