Light Scene kick off a dynamic year with the unique “You Got It”

Date:

Considered a “perfect match,” friends Drew Weikart and Jim Maletich know what it takes to make moody indie music together.  Starting out as a late night jam session with Drew singing a few vocals and playing a few lines over Jim’s tracks, the two found that their respective backgrounds in rock and house music could lead to great possibilities.  Calling themselves Light Scene, Drew and Jim have been releasing singles for the past couple of years that best exemplify their talents and all that they have to offer.  For their first single of 2022, they are offering us the dynamic “You Got It.”

Containing pensive percussion, arpeggiated guitar, and intoxicating melodies, “You Got It” is both soothing and haunting at the same time.  From the lightness of the rhythms to the depth of the piano chords, the track is able to tell a unique story that takes the listener on a compelling journey.  Drew’s modest and melodic vocals enhance Jim’s captivating production, proving that they have tapped into something special.  You can check it out below.

In regards to how the track came about, the duo shared,

“What you feel is better than what you planned.  We followed what felt right and the song wrote itself. Melancholic and driving, it’s really something unique.”

You can listen to “You Got It” on platforms like SoundCloud, Spotify, and Apple Music.
