Inspired by artists from the 50s and 60s, as well as songs from the here and now, singer-songwriter Carli Brill loves to create music that knows no bounds. She enjoys surprising people with unexpected elements and sounds, which is what makes her such an intriguing artist. After releasing her debut EP in 2019, Carli was inspired to move to Nashville to seriously focus on a career in music full-time. Now, she is ready to give us the first of several releases this year with the charming “Concrete Jungle.”
On “Concrete Jungle,” we hear about the small ways that love can bloom in the Big Apple. Over slow-burning production, Carli sings about finding love amongst the tall buildings, only having eyes for this other person’s “heart of gold.” But suddenly, Carli throws us for a loop, as the song goes from a passionate ballad to a more upbeat pop song. During this shift, she delicately touches on meeting her lover in Union Square or growing old in Brooklyn, gladly falling under love’s spell. You can check it out below.
About the track, Carli shared,
“9 years ago, I met this guy and we fell in love in New York. Happy Love Season everyone.”
You can listen to “Concrete Jungle” on platforms like Spotify and Apple Music.
