Tomberlin returns with the beautiful “idkwntht”

Date:

The last time we heard from Sarah Beth Tomberlin was in 2020 when she released the critically-acclaimed EP Projections. Her blend of soft-spoken folk won over fans from NME to MTV, and she’s slowly teased the follow-up to that project over 2021 and played a ton of unreleased material at last year’s Pitchfork Festival.

Today, Tomberlin has revealed “idkwntht“, and it’s a moving piece of music that’s sure to excite anyone who’s followed her career so far. Featuring backup vocals from Told Slant’s Felix Walworth, the song gently incorporates ambient noise, saxophone, and light piano behind Tomberlin’s soft acoustic sound. It feels like a lullaby that gently unfurls and brings you into her world, and this next project sounds like it’s going to be a real treat to listen to. Hear “idkwntht” below.
