When he was just a teenager, Lewis OfMan came onto the scene with his infectious electronic music. His first two EPs, Disconsolate and Yo bene, got the ball rolling, showcasing Lewis’s impeccable talent and potential. From there, he brought his tunes to life by playing shows around the world with notable acts such as Polo & Pan, Yelle, and Rejjie Snow. Now in his mid-20s, the Parisian artist is ready to put forth his debut album, Sonic Poems, and is celebrating the news with a new single and video.
In the video below, we see Lewis holding a boombox and taking a casual walk down the street. As he walks, he notices someone who looks just like him across the way. They make eye contact and engage in a friendly dance battle, smiling and letting the music take over. All of a sudden, disaster strikes, and the dance competition is cut short. The video closes with the title of Lewis’s album first displayed on the cassette from the boombox, and then again across the screen.
As far as the music that was playing from the cassette, it happened to be Lewis’s new single “Boom Boom.” The single contains shimmering beats and an unwavering energy, strong enough to get you moving and then moving some more. The synthy flair that comes across adds an air of fun, inviting you to dance your cares away. Overall, it makes for a smooth introduction for what is to come from the album.
You can listen to “Boom Boom” on platforms like Apple Music and Spotify.
