Saturday, Amalie Arena came alive when 98 Rock hosted 98 Rockfest, featuring Dirty Honey, Fozzy, Candlebox, Seether, and Shinedown. After the annual event was cancelled twice due to Covid, fans were ready to get back to rock. The bands did not disappoint. Dirty Honey opened the evening with their bluesy rock that really managed to set the mood for the whole night. Up next was Chris Jericho’s Fozzy, who turned out to be one of the surprises of the night. If anyone still doubted the wrestler’s music ability, those questions were quickly answered when they launched into their set. Candlebox came next as the crowd started to grow. Seether left all their angst on stage in a growling performance. Shinedown rounded out the night with a stellar performance and Brent Smith even got the crowd to sing Happy Birthday to a dear friend he brought onstage.
