Role Model brings Tourever to New York City

Date:

The lights dim to black as the crowd behind the barricade chants a symphony of “TUCKER”’s buzzing with adrenaline as the young artist appears after a pre-recorded tape of his concert rules; sing the songs back to him and enjoy the moment. The 24 year old pop singer, still relatively new to the scene, kicked off his Tourever concert series with two sold out New York shows at Irving Plaza in the same night, but none of the succeeding shows can match Manhattan’s energy on that Thursday evening.

The early concert had fans waiting outside the doors of Irving Plaza in anticipation for hours, despite the cold rain pouring down. But even with the not-so favouring weather, nothing could kill the energy radiating in the concert hall once fans were let in. Tucker entered the stage with a smile beaming across his face and ended the show with that same smile now plastered on not only his face, but the fans as well that had been enthralled by his angelic voice and personable attitude throughout the entire set.

Starting with an upbeat tune, Role Model instantly got the crowd dancing and obeying his first rule of the few he had started the concert by reciting; Sing all the lyrics. The vibe from the minute Tucker walked on stage was so personal, it felt like you were really with a group of friends, or an extended family even. You could tell that, to Tucker, there was no difference between himself and those there to watch him, everyone was one big family there to have a good time. There wasn’t a single person disconnected from his performance, even those standing on the balcony above or far in the back of the venue were referenced and spoken to in between his performances. It wasn’t difficult to fall in love with the singer’s whole persona, from the engaging and personal conversation between song breaks to his relatable lyrics that portray his more emotional-side and further to the voice that instantly makes your heart throb. Tucker overall had a fantastic performance, but his conversation truly conveyed how grateful he was for every single person there.

You never realize how much a band brings an artist together until you’re standing there listening to the music fill the air around you. To note briefly, the band Tucker had brought with him on stage in New York were excellent, notably the guitarist who had integrated fitting guitar riffs into the set that went flawlessly with Tucker’s impeccable voice and vocal range. If you were in question, there is definitely no autotune needed to make Tucker’s voice sound so refined on tracks, he simply just has an amazing vocal range that seamlessly blends with the music behind him. Which guides me to bring light on the fact that Tucker’s entire performance, start to end, had me captivated. Not only does he put on a show you’ll never forget, but the lyrics flow well, his words are relatable yet also catchy, that mixed with his voice being so angelic makes the entire show worth whatever dollar you have to pay to witness him perform.

Ultimately, Role Model puts on a show I promise you will want to attend. Not only is the music undeniably sensational, but the attitude and energy at Tucker’s show is so unique and personal, it’s difficult to pinpoint another artist amongst the hundreds I’ve seen that have been that appreciative to be in the moment with their fans and truly feeling the same excitement and joy that the fans are. TOUREVER has just kicked off, so if you were thinking about going, I recommend you get tickets and witness how astounding Role Model is.
