From singing in a choir when she was a girl to crafting her sound in Liverpool at Paul McCartney’s prestigious music institute, Heidrunna has put in the work to make her dreams a reality. She has spent her time wisely, sharpening her vocal skills, perfecting her ability to perform, and teaming up with notable creatives to help her make a strong mark in the music world. As she gets ready to showcase her talents on her debut album next year, Heidrunna is testing the waters by giving us her first single, “You Make Me Feel.”
Filled with vibrant synth, edgy beats, and sweet melodies, “You Make Me Feel” makes for a striking introduction to Heidrunna and her artistry. Her musical inspirations are discernable throughout the track, as you can pick up hints of Blondie, Daft Punk, and Phoenix to name a few. Heidrunna’s dreamy vocals put you in a feel-good mood, which is what the track is all about. She mentions,
“I wrote this about an experience I had when I was in my hometown. It’s when you meet someone for the first time and feel this electric connection just when you least expect it. Also at the time, I was heavily into Prince, and it’s inspired by his honesty and simplicity in his writing, rhythm, and structure.”
You can expect to hear more of this beautiful 80s-inspired sound on Heidrunna’s upcoming album, Melodramatic. While we have yet to gather more details on the album, we know that it will definitely be a hit, as Heidrunna teamed up with the notable Liam Howe (Lana Del Rey, MARINA, FKA twigs, Ellie Goulding) for the project.
You can listen to “You Make Me Feel” on platforms like Spotify and Apple Music.
