Shaky Knees replaces Stevie Nicks with Foo Fighters as Friday’s headliner and announce Late Night shows

Date:

Atlanta’s Shaky Knees festival has some big changes to their 2021 lineup. The festival is set to take place October 22-24th of this year in Atlanta, GA at Central Park. On Tuesday, Fleetwood Mac singer Stevie Nicks announced that she will be cancelling her 2021 tour dates due to concerns over covid. On top of Shaky Knees, this means Austin City Limits, Jazz Aspen Festival, and BottleRock Napa Valley will be looking to replace her.

“These are challenging times with challenging decisions that have to be made,” Nicks said in a statement. “I want everyone to be safe and healthy and the rising COVID cases should be of concern to all of us. While I’m vaccinated, at my age, I am still being extremely cautious and for that reason have decided to skip the 5 performances I had planned for 2021. Because singing and performing have been my whole life, my primary goal is to keep healthy so I can continue singing for the next decade or longer. I’m devastated and I know the fans are disappointed, but we will look towards a brighter 2022.”

Replacing Nicks on the 2021 Shaky Knees lineup will be none other than Foo Fighters on Friday night. Joining Foo Fighters on Friday will be St. Vincent, Mac Demarco, Demot Kennedy, and a dozen others. Run The Jewels is set to headliner Satuday’s date with support from Alice Cooper, Portugal. The Man, Garbage, Idles, Kennyhoopla, Lunar Vacation, and other great acts. Closing off the event on Sunday will be headliners The Strokes with support from Modest Mouse, Phoebe Bridgers, O.A.R., Orville Peck, The Aces, and others.

In addition to the replacement of Nicks, the festival will also be adding Garbage, The Collection and Glove to this year’s lineup!

Tickets for the festival are still on sale starting at $99 for a one day pass or $219 for a weekend pass and can be found on the festivals website.

“You’ve social distanced, washed your hands and masked up. Vaccinations are one more critical step in providing protection against the COVID-19 virus and getting back to the people and activities we love,” the festival said.

On top of the changes in headlining acts for Friday, Atlanta’s very own Masquerade has announced the Shaky Knees Late Night Shows starting on Thursday night through Saturday night with performances by X Ambassadors, Idles, Dermot Kennedy, Portugal. The Man, Hobo Johnson & the Lovemakers, Modest Mouse, Orville Peck, Kennyhoopla, and a handful of others. Be sure to grab your tickets to the Late Night Shows on the Festival’s website starting tomorrow August 12th.
