What do you do when you try to just live your life, but can’t stop thinking about that person? You know, the one who is always in your head, popping up when you least expect it, waiting for you to make a move? In Callie Reiff and Kaeyra’s case, they take to the club and dance things out with their friends.
On Callie Reiff’s new “indie club” track, “Heart Ain’t Safe,” she teams up with Kaeyra to place you in the center of a rave, where you can let loose and shake out your feelings. Kaeyra’s expressive vocals bring the track to life, enriching each hypnotizing beat. As she sings about trying to keep her eyes forward and ignoring the person who is catching her eye, Kaeyra eventually lets go of her inhibitions and gives into her desires. She is ready to take her heart on a ride, and see what the night will bring.
Commenting on the track, Callie explained, “‘Heart Ain’t Safe’ is about that one person who is always in the back of your mind. Wherever you are at, you know if they were there you would ditch the party to be with them. I tried to mimic the lyrics with a somewhat dark feeling bassline, intense drums, and an energy that makes you want to be in the middle of a dark rave dancing with all of your friends.” The song is a perfect example of Callie’s bold, distinct sound, which has been described as a “fusion of pop/indie-forward vocals and New York club energy production.” You can check out the track below.
