Ricky Montgomery releases new personal song “Talk To You”

Date:

Superstar Ricky Montgomery is back with brand new music for the first time in a while, and it was well worth the wait. “Talk To You” is a catchy yet personal song for Ricky, as it’s a tribute to the 10 year anniversary of his dad’s passing, but also speaks to the universal experience of self sabotaging behavior that can isolate yourself from your friends.

It’s a brilliant song full of emotion, also featuring his sister Mary on backing vocals. Ricky co wrote, co produced and played the guitar on the track, in a true DIY star fashion. About the song Ricky mentions;

“The lyrics of the song present it as a relatively general “I miss you” type of track, which is easily interpreted as a breakup song. It’s actually inspired by the 10-year anniversary of my dad’s death and also my own self-sabotaging behavior isolating me from old friends in my life. The lyrics are meant to be general so that I can speak on multiple instances in my life of “wishing I could talk to” people from my past — but tell them all simultaneously.“
It’s a very personal song to Ricky and one that clearly is his best work to date. From the compelling piano and swelling guitar, it’s a song that will keep you in tune and want more. Speaking of more from Ricky, he also just announced a U.S fall tour, with support from Laufey and Peter McPoland. It kicks off November 18 at Rickshaw Stop in San Francisco, CA, visits major markets across the country, and concludes December 9 at The Troubadour in Los Angeles, CA.
