Nashville, Tennessee-based indie-pop singer + songwriter Bre Kennedy is letting go of yesterday. “Wilburn Street” is the singer + songwriter’s second single this year following “The Hardest Part” featuring Hadley Kennary that came out earlier this year. It infuses both a pop and folk culmination that is topped off with detailed storytelling and Kennedy’s voice filled with breathy air and rasp.
Kennedy shared in an Instagram post, “I can’t wait to share this next chapter with you. My second single “Wilburn Street” is out now. I wrote this song March 13 of 2020 with my best friends about wanting to overcome the fears that kept us stuck and had no idea what would come after that session. A whole year later and this song rings true to that even more so. I want to celebrate life again with the people I love most. @wilburnstreettavern is the place I love to go with my friends after a long day of figuring out the parts of life that weigh the most. I hope this song finds you in a car ride to your favorite place where your friends are and makes you dance / cry the hard days away.”
Kennedy is joining neo-soul, pop band Fitz & The Tantrums this summer on select dates! Be sure to check out the dates below, and get your tickets here.
