It has been almost one month since Moon Taxi released their fifth studio album, Silver Dream, and so far, reception has been going well. Filled with jubilant choruses, inspiring messages, and music that kindles the souls of almost anyone who hears it, Silver Dream was just the thing that we needed going into the new year. As the album’s singles resonated with copious amounts of fans last year, it is no surprise that the rest of the tracks on Silver Dream are starting to pick up steam as well, starting with “Say.”
Along with the album release last month, Moon Taxi dropped a lyric video for one of Silver Dream’s more vitalizing tracks, “Say.” Judging from the title, one could guess that the track has to do with talking or speaking – acts that are sometimes easier said than done. Frontman Trevor Terndrup is familiar with the difficulty of finding the courage to speak up for yourself, which is why he eagerly reminds the listener to never hold back. If nobody else is around to hear, know that he will be there for you.
The video takes place on a school campus, where all forms of insecurity lie. We see Trevor running on a track outside, presumably listening to “Say” on his tape player as he does a few laps. Throughout the video, we watch as various students take a stand against certain people or disappointments in their lives, showing that they will not be pushed around. As they all join Trevor on the track, you feel as if you are in the moment with them, running and rising above all the negativity. You can celebrate with them below.
You can listen to “Say” on music platforms, such as Apple Music, or on the radio, as the track has recently entered rotation.
