Moon Taxi Re-Release “Hometown Heroes” with Jimmie Allen

Date:

Earlier this year, Moon Taxi raised our spirits with “Hometown Heroes,” a lighthearted track that touches on the ideas of nostalgia and staying true to yourself.  The track captivated listeners around the country and became an official “thank you” anthem to frontline and essential workers.  The simplicity and warmth of “Hometown Heroes” is impossible to ignore, as the melodies wrap you in a gentle hug that could last forever.  Indeed, the track is sure to resonate with fans for years to come, even if Moon Taxi find new ways to change it up.

The band recently teamed up with country artist, Jimmie Allen, who brings even more heart and soul to the track.  Country and indie pop fans alike will appreciate the nuances and flourishes of color that Jimmie contributes to the track, as the artist is able to perfectly blend his portions of the song with the style and feel of the original.  After you hear the track, it seems as if Jimmie was meant to be on this record the whole time.  You can check it out below.

The timing of this song could not be any better, as we all need a little bit of inspiration to get through the results of the current election.  Along with the release, Moon Taxi mentioned, “We hope it gives you a nice respite from everything that’s going on…”  We can all agree that it truly does.

If you want even more new music from Moon Taxi, you can check out their upcoming album, Silver Dream, which will be released on January 22, 2021.  You can pre-order it here.
