Amy Allen Releases Personal New Song “Heaven”

Date:

Amy Allen is an acclaimed singer-songwriter from a small town in Maine who has worked and written with some of the biggest stars in pop music today like Harry Styles, Halsey, and Selena Gomez to name a few.  She has co- written some of the most popular songs to date including Halsey’s “Without Me”.  She has quickly become one of the best known storytellers of her generation, and there is no stopping her any time soon. Not only is she a brilliant songwriter for others, but she also has ventured into writing and making her own music that speaks true to her.  As a songwriter she was always telling the stories of others, now it’s time for her to tell her own.

Amy started playing music when she was 8 years old, has mastered 5 instruments, went to Berklee College of Music, started a band, moved from NYC to LA to become a full-time songwriter. In that time she has become a force to be reckoned with. Since then Amy has released two stellar singles “Difficult” and “Queen Of Silver Linings” off of her highly anticipated debut album.  Both songs have done exceptionally well and has garnered her over 3 million plus streams and a spot on Forbes 30 under 30 list of 2020 as well as coverage on acclaimed media sites like Flaunt, American Songwriter, and People Magazine. But it doesn’t stop there. Amy has just released the third single “Heaven” from her upcoming debut album.

Heaven is a deeply personal song to Amy as it touches on the subject of addiction and loss. Amy wrote “Heaven” after losing two family members to addiction last year. The story is an unfortunate and a familiar tale to many, especially in a time when loss is so prevalent. It comes at a time where it is relevant as it is also National Recovery Month, in which Amy has also encouraged fans in an  Instagram post to help give back to different charities like MusiCares, and Friends of Earth.  The song itself is an emotional one filled with a mellow guitar melody and Amy’s soft voice, and features haunting vocals like “you’ve never been to heaven but you got pretty close last night”. It’s evident how personal this one really is to Amy and you can definitely hear it in her voice.

Just judging by the three singles that have already been released, her debut album is sure to be a hit. In making her debut album, Amy sought collaborators from beyond her hit-making universe in order to create a statement truly authentic to her. Dan Wilson (Adele, Semisonic, Dixie Chicks), Ethan Gruska (Phoebe Bridgers, Fiona Apple), Ian Fitchuk and Daniel Tashian (Kacey Musgraves), rapper Jon Bellion and the London-based established songwriter Eg White all made their mark here. Amy says that every song is a different journey. Amy strives to make music that is true and authentic to herself while also hoping she can make songs that make others feel something. She has finally found her outlet again and can’t wait for the world to hear these songs.

Keep Up With Amy!
