Simple Creatures Release New Single, “Thanks, I Hate It”

Date:

Fans will definitely not be using the title of the new Simple Creatures track to sum up their opinions of the boys’ new “trash-pop bop.”

On this latest track, “Thanks, I Hate It,” Alex Gaskarth and Mark Hoppus express their frustrations about constantly being shut down.  Accompanied by edgy guitar riffs, they sing, “No, you’re never satisfied / Now you wanna run and hide / Can’t you look me in the eyes and say ‘thanks, I hate it.’”  All they want is a little recognition for their efforts, even if it is in the form of a sassy compliment.  You can listen to it below!

For those who are curious about the inspiration behind the track, Alex mentioned, “Had a day in the studio where we were feeling bad about ourselves because SOME PEOPLE don’t appreciate angry synthesizers. Now we get to shake our hips to that neg energy in a healthy and productive way.”  Hopefully, THOSE PEOPLE will have an apology ready for these pop punk legends!

Alex and Mark also announced the release date of a new EP, “Everything Opposite,” dropping October 11.  You can pre-order it here.

You can stream “Thanks, I Hate It” on sites like Apple Music and Spotify.
